History and heritage find their expression in the folk art paintings of Jessica Wasilewski. Jessica paints an America we all know. While we may not manage to stay there, that America is a place we always think of as home.A descendent of Mayflower settlers who makes her home in historic Pennsylvania.
Jessica grew up in New Jersey and has been painting since childhood. Primarily self taught, she was influenced by her Mother, artist Ann Reeves, who encouraged Jessica and her three sisters to develop their imaginations. Art School was the kitchen table with a big box of shared crayons. Evalyn Dunn’s Gallery, one of the oldest and most respected New Jersey art galleries is proud to carry her work.
Her folk art style of painting reflects a love of tradition, family, friends, and simpler times. She uses family and friends as a personal signature in her paintings, and her most important exclamation is including her pet pug, Buddy in most every painting.
Jessica’s work, which along with original paintings includes lithographs, giclees, puzzles, calenders, cards and hand painted furniture is available through the artist and art galleries throughout the Northeast.
In 2005, three of Jessica’s original paintings won the prestious SoHo/Chelsea International Art Competition in New York City.
Sadly, Jessica passed away in May 0f 2010.
