Nancy Karpf was born in Summit, New Jersey, and raised in Meadowbrook outside of Philadelphia. While in high school, Nancy took classes at The Philadelphia College of Art and Parsons School of Design. She then studied at the University of Wisconsin, receiving a degree in Fine Arts where she created large-scale abstract paintings. Upon graduation, she moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in advertising and furthered her studies at the San Francisco Art Institute.
Nancy developed a passion for travel after meeting her husband, Len. Together they have traveled to Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa, Central America inspiring paintings based upon her experiences. Currently, she participates in painting workshops taught by Grace Graupe-Pillard and James Kent.
Nancy’s work has been exhibited in New Jersey galleries including Art Alliance Gallery, Gallery211, Grant Avenue Gallery, Center for the Visual Arts Gallery and the Monmouth Museum.
